| Apply for a OCI(overseas citizen of India)for her. She should be eligible for it as she has Indian citizen parent. With an OCI she will not need a Visa to visit or stay in India(for unlimited time) and will get almost all facilities at par wih an Indian citizen. You can apply for OCI from USA. Read about OCI in the numerous threads in the visa section of the forum. http://www.indiamike.com/india/india...-questions-f9/ Last edited by nayan; Oct 24th, 2008 at 09:39.. | I applied for an OCI for my two kids and myself last year at CGNY. Everything was done by mail. You have to prove that the individual or parent or grandparent was an Indian citizen. I used a copy of my passport for myself and copies of my kids birth certificates to show their relationship with me (I submitted my Indian passport for cancellation when I submittedour US passports for endoresement with the OCI lifetime visa. |

| I am not aware of your situation, but thought I should warn you that when one parent travels with a young child, especially for more than a brief holiday, it is becoming more common for there to be some form of proof required that there is not another parent who has not given permission for their child to leave the country.
