Visa photo
I just got my Visa for my first trip to India the end of February (US Citizen). I had to submitt 2 photos with the application. The visa itself is sort of a full page sticker thing that goes onto a page within the passport ( I was really expecting something fancier). It shows no picture. My impression from this website is that the government within India is rather slow to do things. If the photos aren't on the visa, what happens to them? I'm guessing if they are forwarded to India they'll never be seen again. Any thoughts?

Don't presume that the government within India is too slow.
The pictures are most likely scanned and stored in a computer database of Big Brother India! |

The photos are not on the visa. They probably send one here to keep an eye on you.

Interpol the band, or organisation?
![]() As recently as early 2006, at the Indian Consulate in Sydney, it was necesary to have 2 passport photos when handing in your visa application, but when I went a week back, they only wanted one. So, who knows. Maybe Interpol doesn't want my phoro anymore, or the Indian government.

Indian bureaucrats love photos. You have to stick them on all sorts of documents.
It's not such a bad idea, though... |

Well that is interesting. Every time anyone wants to take a photo of me I try to gently refuse them and say that I am wanted by Interpol, certainly gets some funny looks.
