Try telephoning the embassy in madrid yourself, and ask/explain the situation.

I've got my visa in Madrid last July. I know that Indian Embassy are not very fast with visas, so my son went to Madrid for other reasonns and brought passports to the embassy. Ten days later I went there to get the passports. They are giving express visa in the same day paying an extra amount, but you never know what is going on...
Just for in case i've got 12 months visa. The best advice is to get the visa soonest if you are sure you'll be travelling to India (the same happen with air tickets) Best of lucks |

They do not answer the phone, reply to emails or faxes and are in my experience uncontactable. However they are reasonably efficient in issuing a visa but are let down by the Spanish postal service. The good news is that, as Jorge said, they issue 12 months tourist visas on demand. John |

Bureaucracy! So sorry for you...A very nice alternative would be Thailand for beautiful beaches (diving + snorkeling), temples and great food! No visa required. Amazing temples+ pagodas you would find in Myanmar. But you'll also need a visa there... |

Hello Pau,
I am from Spain too, greetings to you, from Barcelona, I think by your name you are catalan too. Saluts! Sorry to hear about the story of the visa, hope you get a solution soon, or get to India from another country. Also send a big namaste, hola, to all the Spanish members of indiamike, jorge_reverte, I see you participate a lot in this forum, and to Isabel, thanks for coming in my shop and for that lovely book, Ladies Coupe, by Anita Nair, that you passed me. It is one of my favourites. Hope you had a great time in the south, and have nice memories. See you! Eva Mehrotra Last edited by Nick-H : Jun 26th, 2007 at 15:35. Reason: Member's request |

i'm sorry to tell you that it was impossible to get the visa... i'm very very sad, and i haven't free days enough to get it from another country... i'm sure next year i'll be able to visit you because i'm going to get it several months before... i had everything prepared!!!! To spend my free days (holidays) i'm going to Turkey the day after tomorrow (i've never been there and you can get the visa once there), but it isn't the same... I'm from asturias, but i have family in Cataluña (lovely place). thank you for your help, i hope we'll meet next year!!

Hi Pau,
Still can't understand the matter as I've got my visa last July in five days.... Don't worry too much, next time take it with more time. In any case I'm sure you will enjoy your holidays in Turkey, I've been there many times moving by car all around the country and is one of my favourites places to travel. As a consolation, I was trying to travel again next December to India (just came back a month ago) but for familiar reasons I'll travel to Egypt (I've already been in Egypt twice). That's life ( fortunately sometimes only). All the best Jorge |

Hi, Pau.
I'm sorry to know about the news. But I'd like to encourage you that the mother India will be always there and when the time comes, you'll know her as it happened to all of us. Anyway, Turkey is another beautiful place (I like there, too! ) and hope you enjoy your trip Suerte y buen viaje!!! |
