Several people have got the 1 year visa in the last few weeks. Keep in mind that you have to leave India after 180 days with this visa.

Just got back from the Indian embassy.. Firstly.. the queue. OH MY GOD.. its the longest I have ever seen it. and this is my third trip in 2 weeks.

Secondly... no can do, seeing as my parents are from Pakistan, they will not give me anything other then a single entry 3 month visa to india, so it looks like I will be doing 2 or 3 visa runs. Me being born in England does not make a blind bit of difference.

First time in my life I could truely say "its all my parents fault" . Oh well the money I was planning to spend in India will now be spent in Pakistan instead...

Well I knew they were strict with Pakistani people and people people of Pakistani origin, but I didn't think they were this strict.

Just a silly note to all the useful advice, don't forget to take your passport, its a real bummer when you got up early paid the commuter fee on train then sat there for an hour got a ticket and realized you forgot that they need to have a passport to put the visa in. Believe me. :P
