Visa for Unmarried Partner (I have a 10 year B)

I'm trying to get my partner a long-term Multiple entry tourist visa for her to visit me in India while I'm there on business off-and-on for the next few years.

Has anyone had any luck getting this type of visa from the Bangkok embassy? I have a 10-year business visa that was issued by the San Francisco consulate but it appears the Bangkok embassy only issues 3-month single entry tourist visas to Thai nationalities.

This will be her 2nd 3-month single entry visa (assume it's issued). Can anyone 1) tell me if they are likely to issue the 2nd tourist visa within a 1 year period and 2) give me any advice on how to approach getting her a longer-term M entry tourist visa. Would a letter from my company help (even though she isn't an employee, but just the girlfriend of an employee)?

Thanks..please advise.

So is she a citizen of Thailand? I don't have any specific info about what kinds of visas (duration, multiple entry) are issued to Thai nationals - or to anyone else at the Bangkok embassy-- but regardless, I don't think her status as the girlfriend of someone else who has a longer term visa is going to cut any ice at all. And I doubt that a letter from your employer would make a difference if she's not your spouse. I think the kind of visa she qualifies for is going to depend on whatever her status is, completely independent of you.

Don't know about Thai. But, a Vietnamese poster described a much tougher time of it than western travellers have. Three months and a visa interview I recall. Home country application is an advantage..

Possible loophole. It's a longshot, but check it out....

Just I have a feeling you can get a long-term visa issued to your domestic servant. Or maybe that was for diplomats. Have a dig around.

Of course, it might not do the relationship much good ....

Sorry... that's for diplomats. nothing more dangerous than a little knowledge

Does Spouse HAVE to mean Married? probably....

Looks like its going to have to be marriage then.......

Spouse definitely means married ... even in the U.S.! Can't imagine India being more liberal/flexible on this point! In fact, the limitation of certain rights to "spouses" in many laws in the U.S. has been at the root of a lot of the "gay marriage" vs. "domestic partnership" brou-ha-ha.
