You will only get a 6 month Tourist visa if you are a Japanese citizen. The 10 year tourist visa is issued only to US citizens. Canadian citizens are eligible for a 5 year tourist visa.

The 6 month tourist visa is a multiple entry visa. If you apply for a visa from outside Japan you will be charged more and it will take a longer time. If you go to the Indian Embassy in Tokyo you will be issued a visa on the same day that you submit your application.

Visa $ for Japanese

Was just on the phone with the Indian embassy here in Kathmandu and was told that- contrary to my previous bold posts - not only are Americans charged an extra $30 or so more than any other nationality, but Japanese are charged far less. Far, FAR less. They were busy and didn't look it up for me. So, enjoy this benefit and happy travelling!

I love learning new things, even when it means I'm not the knowitall I pose as .....
