visa extension

Good day everyone,
I am a Nigerian citizen currently studying at LV Prasad eye institute, Hyderabad. The duration of study, 3 months from july to september 2006. I had a difficult time getting a visa back home in Nigeria in june, it only covered me for 3 months from the day of interview, hence got expired on the 7th of september. Luckily it was extended for a month. Here is my problem: I have another sponsorship to continue my fellowship at the Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai for a year. The Indian Embassy back home thinks the institution should apply on my behalf for an extension. The authorities at Madurai wants me to go back and obtain a fresh visa. This is my state. The initial extension expires in 3 weeks.

1. Get a letter from the institute stating that you are a fellow in good standing and how long your fellow ship will last

2. Contact your Nigerian consulate in India and see if they can help.

3. Ask Indian consulate back in Nigeria if your paperwork can be processed in India and if so where.

4. Do not overstay your visa, if you can help it.

Isn't the hospital able to sort it out for you?

OK, silly question --- if they were I guess you wouldn't have posted your problem here.
