Visa Extension - how does one get it?

We are in Punjab, about 5 hrs from Delhi. We need to get our visa extended for a month. What is the process and where do we need to go?

You need to approach with confirmed flight ticket out of your visa, say 25 days after it ends to foregner registration office.
Make sure you do it BEFORE it ends, it could cost you quite alot, up to 4000rs.
I'm going to try extend my visa by 2 weeks, it should be cheaper, about 30 $

You haven't said what kind of visa you have and what your nationality is.

If it's a normal 6 month tourist visa and you have a good reason for wanting it extended, then the foreigners registration office in Delhi may give you an extention of up to two weeks. We did this a couple of years ago and there was no charge.

As the previous poster said don't leave it until your visa has expired.
