UK Visa question
Hi all,
I just wanted to know something about visas. Suppose, a person goes to UK on a business visa for 2 months. Can his spouse also travel with him? If yes (hope it is not NO), then which visa should she apply for?and what all documents should she require when applying for the visa at the embassy? and is it possible to get this visa approved if u r to leave immediately after marriage? (well, u can keep some time in between, but that is going to be spent in soem nice solitary places in uttarakhand, lazily hiking along the tibet border, with no british embassy for kilometres around). Cheers, Almoraboy

Technically NO, if you travel together you have to have same visa types. They cant issue a Biz visa to one & tourist visa to other. You can get further advise on phone if you call up the visa section of your local UK embassy

The spouse should have no particular problem getting a tourist visa.
As for documents etc, visit the UK Embassy/High Commission site .. everything is given in detail. http://www.britishhighcommission.gov...017170902 275 ps and the 'immediately after marriage'... your wife to be will have to get a new passport made first, isn't it? or maybe these days its not required? |

IIRC, that's a 'non-settlement visa' in UK terms. I don't think there will be any problem.
I think you can download the forms from the UK visas so you can see what questions they ask. They want to be sure of two things:
The fact that the spouse is accompanying you on a business trip would seem to add weight to satisfying both these requirements. If you cannot find the answers on the website above, then go see them and ask.
