two tourist visas?
Hi, I was wondering, is it possible to apply for two six months visa one after the other? in other words, can I get a six-month India visa and a six-month Bangladesh visa before I leave Australia.
I just rather do all the admin work here than whilst im overseas. thanks |

Depends if the Bangladesh visa start from date of entry or date of purchase!
If it's from date of entry then I see no reason why not!! |

thanks,
just confused by Alan D's reply to this post (finally found it!), "I don't think anyone can guarantee you that the Indian Embassy in Nepal will issue you with another tourist visa because strictly speaking most people are only entitled to one 6 month visa in a year" so, this is only if you want another Indian visa after one has expired? like it doesn't apply if you have multiple six-month visas to different countries.... |

My last visa started before the previous one ran out (by coincidence). No one said anything, but they stamped the first one cancelled so there were not two valid at the same time.

oh..it does make sense to cancel the previous visa if it is to the same country.
how about visas for two different countries - can they co-exist validly? |

I think you were a special case. Most people have to exit the country to pick up another 6 month tourist visa. At times in the past this was sometimes difficult to obtain and I have seen people refused and turned away at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. Things seem more relaxed these days. On that particular thread I was advising Guto not to count on being able to get another visa for India. As it turned out the Indian authorities gave him a one month stay in India.

oh dear...
I have already had 2 Indian visa's in a row as i was there for 9 months (got the second one in Sri Lanka - go to the Embassy at Kandy, its much more relaxed, but there is no one day visa service - if anyone wants info on getting Indian visa's in SL, please ask me!) so my current Indian visa runs out on 17th August (came back in May '05) I am going to apply for another one tomorrow as i am planning on heading back out on 22nd August for 4 months, reading the above posts however, has got me slightly worried that I wont be able to get another one for my next trip - has anyone had any difficulties with the Embassy in London in getting a 3rd visa in a row? Any ways around this?
Thanks for any advice! Indianflower ![]() |
