Trying to find the appropriate Visa form is sending me bonkers- Aussies, please help?

I'm trying to find the tourist visa application form for residents of Queensland, Australia to complete... but I'm going round in circles... If I go to the High Commission of India website, it tells me all visa stuff is now done through VFS global (outsourced company I presume)... however that website tells me that for Visa application forms for QLD and NT, to go to the High Commission of India website! The only forms I can find on the VFS site say for NSW and SA Residents ONLY. Any advice anyone?

Probably best to send an email as per this page: http://www.vfs-in-au.net/contactus.aspx

to visainfo@vfs-in-au.net and ask them.

No phone number listed for the Brisbane Office:

India Passport & Visa Services Centre (Brisbane)
Shop No.6, 38 Warry Street, Off. Water Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane – 4006
Entrance also available from: 37 Kennigo Street
Closest train stations: Central station & Brunswick station

Vireya's website link has all the information that you will need and you can also download a visa form from it as well.

I emailed IHC in NZ when I needed an enquiry and the form and received a very quick reply along with the form as an attachment, which I downloaded. Good luck, I'm sure it will all go well!

The India Consulate is at Swann Rd, Taringa - open 10am to 3pm - drop in. Or just download a tourist visa form from the web.

But don't take your completed form back to the Consulate - apparently there is an $18 charge for handing your form in there now. This is unfortunate for me as the Indian consulate in Melbourne is in the suburb where I live, but the outsourcing place is in the city.

gembalina - it is very hard to find. Quite the worst trail of interconnecting links I've been frustrated by for a while. The link is at the bottom of this page - and even then it's difficult, because the hotlink is only on the arrow

http://www.hcindia-au.org/consular.html

good luck!

Thanks obione! It's just an insane loop between the websites! I emailed both the HC and VFS and the HC said "contact VFS!" and VFS said "Contact the HC!". AWESOME COMMUNICATION SKILLZ GUYZ!

It would be interesting to know what the differences are between the visa forms for different states. One wonders why it would matter.

Anyway, glad you finally found the correct form for Queenslanders.

To my horror I found that VFS (apparently a Swiss company which specialises in this stuff)) also handles the processing of visas for Indians wishing to obtain a visa for Australia. They (VFS) obviously read from the 19th century Book of Bureaucracy. They use technology alright - but to obfuscate, delay and control rather than to facilitate anything.

While I realise getting a visa through an agency is not ideal, I did just last week get my Indian visa through VFS in Sydney. No problems, had my visa in 7 days.
