The New Five-Year Visa

Government of India has introduced a long term tourist visa with multiple entry for nationals of 18 countries
The countries which come under the new visa norms include france,germany,luxembourg,neth erlands, belgium, finland, spain, switzerland, norway,iceland, new zeland , japan , south korea , argentina, brazil, chile, mexico and vietnam
''the visa will have a five year validity with stipulation that continuous stay in India on each visit shall not exceed 90 days''

Giving and taking away, eh? five years, but only 90 days each visit. I wonder if the old 6 month visa, six month stay, visas will still be available to people from those countries.

Or is this another attempt to reduce the amount of time visitors are able to stay here?

Of course, for the people who take an annual 2-week holiday here it is nothing but good news.

But wait... is that has introduced as in is available now? Or as in filtering through government departments an might, just might, be available one day...
