Student Visa - Nepal - Tourist Visa

Currently, I have a 6 month single entry student visa, as I am studying in New Delhi for the moment. In the beginning of June I'm going to Nepal, and my studies in India are over. While I'm in Nepal, my student visa in India expires. After Nepal I want to go back to India on a tourist visa valid for at least one month.

What is the most time-effiecient step I should take to arrange this? FRRO in Delhi, or should i do it in Katmandhu?

Any help appreciated.

Enviro

A tourist visa can ONLY be had at the Embassy in Kathmandu. the FRRO office can't issue them!

As far as I know they can extend X visas and change x visas into other types of visas but the OP has a student visa which can be extended if the school supplies the right paparwork!
To get a tourist he has to go to Kathmandu!

Do tell if I've got that wrong!

As per the visa rules it's neccesary to leave country if u have visa for an year as well'after every six months...But in case of enviro he has visa for single entry n he has to leave country after six months to extend or change visa n people use best n nearest option as nepal n he is going to nepal'though he can do all the extension work in nepal....!
But there in certain cases u can extend visa in FRRO for few days if u don't get tkts as per ur schedule or u r in some legal matter in india .......n so on ...!
Thanks Sorry to intrupt u

Yeah I know you can extend a visa but only X visas, tourist visas if you have a very good reason and only for a few weeks and student visas, if your school supplies paperwork that says you will continue your studies!
Persons of Indian origin can also convert tourist visas to X visas

The Op asks specifically about a tourist visa, as his student visas has ran out, the FFRO will not issue a tourist visa for this. He will need to go to Kathmandu or extend his student visa!

Thanks for all help! I will do it all in Nepal then.
But one more thing, I arrive in Nepal at the 5th of june. My indian student visa does not expire before the 12th. Do I have to wait to after the 12th with the application for the tourist visa?
