A tourist visa is valid for six months from the date of issue.
You can use it as often as you like (multiple entry) so long as it is valid. My last two trips this year were both longer than a month. I have never been to Goa, but I assume that an Indian Tourist Visa is an Indian Tourist Visa is an Indian Tourist Visa...

Yeah there was a rumour going around last year, that immigration at Goa airport was doing this but my friends who flew in on charters last season didn't have a problem with this!!
If you've paid for a 6 month visa I see no reason for them to shorten it without at least a refund but then this is India!! |

If you dig around, you should be able to find a fare for around £330 return with a reputable Arabic airline like GULF without the restriction of 4 weeks - and have a return ticket. ( From the UK ). I found the "charter cheapies" useful for a quick fortnight in South India - usually an impulse "the week before" decision ! I realise how lucky we are here in Europe to be able to do this... From the other side of the Atlantic it's another matter altogether ![]() |

Some important rules for anyone wishing to come to India on a charter flight:
1) The duration of stay of charter tourists in India shall not be less than one week and not more than four weeks. 2) Indian passport holders are also permitted to travel by ITP charter flights. 3) The charter operators may be permitted to carry one-way passengers not availing ‘Inclusive Tour Package’, on the first leg of outward operation and on the last leg of inward operation, subject to the condition that the charter operations are in a series of at least eight flights to any metro destination (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad) and at least four flights to any other destination.
