renouncing citizenship
I've just had a look at the visa application site and noticed that British citizens of Indian origin have to shell out ninety quid to hand in their Indian passports.A look at the form seems to suggest that this also includes renouncing their Indian citizenship. When I married my wife in 1982 she aquired British citizenship along with a passport at the British consulate in Delhi. She has never had an Indian passport. Will she have to fill in this form and spend £90 before she can apply for a visa to visit India? If anybody has any experience with this can you reply?
Thanks in advance. |

I strongly suspect that she will have to pay. Unfortunately this is a very recent rule, so it's unlikely that anyone has any experience to offer as yet. Do post back and let us know how you get on.
