Renewal of Employment Visa
Dear All,
I have a query and was wondering if anyone has any experience of renewing an Employment Visa. My current Employment Visa runs out in February 2007. When I obtained this Visa last year the gentleman at the counter at the Indian High Commission in London told me that if I wished to renew the Visa I could renew it in India and did not need to come back to the UK. My company is claiming that I need to return to the UK to get a new Visa but this contradicts what I was told at the Indian High Commission in London. Would any of you have any experience in this area and could advise me. Many thanks for any help.

Employment Visa
Nick,
Thanks for this, funnily enough I did actually wonder if you would have any information on this as I wrote this post and nearly PM'd you but thought it might be interesting for other people to see - you never know who may be interested in this info in future. Just one thing, would you have the website address for the Bureau of Immigration. I will try and google for it but just wondered. Thanks again. |

Employment Visa
Nick,
Further to my last post, I have seen the website, passed on the details to the correct person in my company and have just been informed that someone is being sent to the MHA on Monday to sort out. Thanks again, |

This is their website
The addresses of the FRROs in the major cities are there, I think. I didn't know the answer to this one, but I've hung around this Indian visa business to get a bit of a feel for it! Trouble is, I have realised the ultimate rule: Whatever the rule actually is, the rule is whatever the bureaucrat you are talking to at the time says it is !!! |

Yes, unfortunately here I do think it depends on who you talk to. Someone from my company is going to the MHA on Monday and will keep you posted as to how things pan out.
Best wishes, |
