"Registered Travel Agents" on High Commission web site
Visa Surgeries visits seem not to be an easy option any more. The Visa Surgery at Bradford, West Yorkshire, had enormous queues last Saturday. The consulate staff said they would be handing out 400 visas. They opened at 9.30am (I think) and then the staff stopped work at 11.30am - having apparently processed 300 visas. Work was due to commence at 2.00pm for the remaining 100. However, I was not going to be in the next 100, so abandoned the queue (after 3 hours). There still appeared to be about 300 people behind me.
re: List of Detailed Registerd Travel Agents on the High Commission of India web site - is this a definite list, - are there any trustworthy agents who are not on this site, who deliver visas in West Yorkshire? (I saw a reference on a thread about the Doncaster travel company). Do companies who are not on this official list have to subcontract to people on the list? Does the High Commission only give access to these particular agents. Also was checking out the web sites of the travel agents providing only visa services, and noticed that 4 of thes agents were not using the most recent 2007 Visa Form. I have no idea if someone filling in a form dated 26/02/01 or 17/04/2003 would make any difference to having your visa completed satisfactorily at the High Commission, but I found it slightly puzzling that these companies endorsed by HQ were not uploading the most recent versions of the Tourist Visa. Which leads me on the question of how do you know if your visa stamp is the real thing, - if you have charged someone else with getting it for you? Any feedback welcome. |
