references
Hi (i am begining to feel like a spammer)
Me and my friend are currently trying to fill in our visa applications for india (we are in the uk) and on the form it asks for 2 references in India. We spoke to STA travel about this and they said that we could put 1 as the hotel we have booked into in Dehli and he could not tell us who or what to put as the reference. I spoke to a friend who went to india some time ago and she said she didn't have to make references, so this must be new. It seems pretty wierd to me. How would I have any references when I am only going to India for a holiday and don't know anyone there??? Help. Maybe we should call the embassy in London? |

Woodlands Hotel
M. G. Road and then think of any city. Nobody ever checks. In the UK your Visa is done in 2 hours along with another 50 other Visas. Just make sure you remember everything on they ask you to provide and that your passport has more than 6 months left on it. Wait till you get to India and try to fill in the forms as you check into the hotel's, they can drive you up the wall

You don't need to fill in the references in India bit if you are only applying for a tourist visa. We never have and no one has ever questioned it. However, if you are worried about this, as Steven says, just put anything down. I'm sure it won't be checked. |

Nothing is illegal until you get caught~

True, if it's a tourist visa they don't check. I called and was told that one was sufficient (that was made up as well).
No problems thus far! Don't worry at all on this one. ![]()

I never put any references on my visa form...
But talking about this form, I'm always worried about the point: "if you ever been to India, please write down when and where..." (or something like that) ... the last time I needed an extra sheet of paper for all the names of the cities and states ![]() |

I have filled in 8 visa forms and never once put in a reference and never had a problem. In fact the more previous visa's that you have, the quicker and more easier the next visa is. My last visa took less than 30 minutes.
