Referees in India

Just about to go to London to get my visa for India before 6 months worth of travel.

Have noticed that on the application form I need to give 2 referees in India to contact 'in case of need'. (Name, address and tel number)

What shall I put there then? I don't know anyone in India...

Help much appreciated.

Leave blank or list a hotel. It's no big deal.

You don't know any Indian residents? There are a billion of them. Just saying.

When I applied, I left it blank, then one of the clerks at the consulate said I needed to put someone on there. So I put that I knew Vikram Sharma in Delhi and Samir Patel from Gurgaon. He accepted that.
