Hey Aadil

I am a cabin crew and i intend to visit chile with my mom. however to reach my final destination i have to transit through
spain.as you must be aware as an employee of an airline we are privileged with disounted tickets however these are not confirmed and are subject to loads due to which i have to procure a spanish visa along with chilean visa for myself as well as my mom.
now my real query is first as i am a crew i wouldnt be able to give away my passport for more than a day or two, second as i dont intend to stay in spain i dont have any hotel reservations too.second as i was going through the posts i became aware that there are agencies or people who help you with documentation, would you be kind enough to provide me contact details of such agencies.
Regards Girish.

some countries in shengen area are easyer to get visa for then others. Please bear in mind that Czech republic and Poland also entered the shengen area. So if you change port of landing to let's say Prague. You will have a much easyer time getting a visa. This visa also allows you for Spain and Portugal.

In fact you don't need all accomodation booked. But if you apply for a shengen visa as an Indian you have to have some proof that you have something in India to come back to. if you don't have that. Then getting a visa is going to be very tough.

Wish you good luck. if you have any more questions please PM me.

Girish, a Schengen visa should not be a problem at all- I have got a few myself, and thousands of Indian tourists travel to Europe every year.

Your best bet is to contact the Spanish embassy or consulate close to you. I honestly don't see any problem here (except maybe the passport for one/two day thing)

I was at a travel agent shop in Connaught Place a few years ago and listened to the travel agent talking with a "visa agent". From what I gathered tey had inside men in a few embassies and it ws easier to get Schengen visas for these countries. The French was their favourite even though they had got rid of a few corrupt employees. They stil had a man on the inside.

the best way to apply for ur schengen visa..well i might have to let go of ur passport for a few days...
they need proof of 4 things-

a) hotel booking - book ur stay in a hostel in any city on www.gomio.com .. they charge u just 2 dollars/euros per booking...as booking fee. or just go to the hilton hotels website, there r some hotels tht book for free and dont charge anything.
b) send them ur latest bank account statement, of 3 or 6 months whatver they have asked for.
c) that u will return to india
d) ur seat on a flight to and from spain. u cud manage a dummy ticket from a travel agent.

submit these n u'll b thru.. spain will never reject ur visa.

have a cool trip
