Please help with travel visa question
Hi,
I am traveling soon to India and want to get travel visa, but they are asking airline details and address of where I will be staying..I do not have this information..I am waiting until I get to India to figure out where to stay, and I will not have flight info for awhile, as I am waiting for cheap flights..I am going to buy air later , probably while I am in New Zealand..can I still get travel visa now? Thanks so very much, P. |

Who is "they", what is your nationality, do you have any family ancestry that is different from your own, and in which country are you applying?

Note that this is a one size fits all form. For the tourist visa its normally not necessary to fill all that detail in. However, if you are in the wrong consulate or have a background that is iffy (Pakistani) its more complicated. Without all that detail..

The answer applicable to first-world-country citizens without any relevant ethnic background is: put down a real flight number on an arbitrary date, and put down a hotel address you've seen on the web.
They don't care, but sometimes officials don't like blank spaces on forms. You definitely won't be questioned, but if you are, you never said you bought the ticket or made a hotel reservation, these are just what you were intending to fly/stay at when you applied. Since then your plans changed. I have done this even for Iran, which is a police state. India is not a police state, merely a bureaucratic state. |

As you'll be applying in the US, whoever told you that you need to give actual flight details is talking absolute rubbish, be wary of anything else they're telling you. In fact the Travisa website clearly states in bold letters Quote:
