PIO card questions

Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help me. I have obtained a PIO card and am moving to goa in june. In all the books i have read it says u can only enter india if u have a return/onward ticket. As i am not planning to return (for a long time at least anyway) does this still apply to me seeing as i hold a pio card?

Also any info on goa would be much appreciated. Is it easy to get long term accomodation out there? Can u work in india on a pio card?

Then all those books are wrong!

You will not be asked for your ticket at all, either applying for a visa (which you don't need) in, or on arrival from UK. (in my experience, and in the much longer experience of many other members here).

Other readers... Please note that visa and travel requirements to India from other countries in the world may vary!

Yes... you can work in India on a PIO card.

You will have to register.

Do u know if it is easy to find work in india?
Also would you know how much it is roughly to rent an apartment/house on a long term basis ie. 1 month - 6 months?

Personally, no I don't know about Goa.

Rental of a house for 1 to 6 months is not long term, but it is probably available on some sort of tourist let.

Long-term will begin with 11-month renewable lease.

Work will depend on what you can do, where you want to work, etc etc ---- the questions are getting a bit on the vague side!

I wanted to try and sort accommodation out before i went do u or anyone know of any good websites to do this through and yes i am looking for longterm 11month +

If not i just wanted to know roughly the cost of renting a place out there.
