Strong recommendation: get a good immigration lawyer.
Being a UK citizen one thing I have never had to do is deal with our Home Office immigration people. Among my friends that have the stories vary from stunningly easy to outragiously unreasonably hard, including their own mistakes that they then won't allow apeal against. Absolutely necessary to have good profesional advice to get every word on every form just right.

permanent in UK???
Is it possible to switch from the tourist visa to the elderly dependant visa 'in-country' unless there are exceptional and compelling reasons.
Or does the mother-in-law require to return to India in order to make an application for her to come to the UK specifically as a dependant. I would have thought that the Home Office authorities would be highly suspicious of those prsons who ostensibly enter the UK for a "holiday" and who then apply to stay in the UK long-term. |
