You have already been given clear instructions as to what to do next:

What part of explain and reapply don't you understand?

You are lucky. It is a criminal offence to furnish false information on a passport application, and in the current environment, you could have got into a great deal of trouble.

What you have to do is reapply, this time giving the correct information. They already have a file on you and if you give the wrong information again, they will cross-check and you may probably never get a passport in your life again.

thanx man bt one thing i cant get is about pp forms, in a passport there are already two pp forms so do i have to photocopy one form and and send it along with passport form. and one more query, initially my state chattisgarh didnt had passport office but now we have one in raipur, so this time instead of going to bhopal it will go to raipur so do they check the details.

see there are two parts :
1)furnish current residential address with proof & 3 personal particular forms for reverification.

2)Please furnish a fresh application form with all the columns filled up, all declarations signed and photographs affixed in the boxes given in the form.

so i should to do them seperately or in a new form in which there are already two pp forms i attach one more pp form.

The way I read the instructions is as follows:

1. Tell us your current address and prove that you live there. Also send them three separate Personal Particular Forms to be reverified.

2. Make a completely new passport application form, you have to start from scratch. In other words fill it out just the way you did it before. Except with the right address!

Does that make more sense?

Makes sense to me! But Haylo, if you think passport forms and stuff are bad in UK, be assured that they are a nightmare in India.

Here is my advice to amolmotwani:

Go talk to a travels company that handles passport and visa enquiries and applications. It will cost you a few rupees, maybe a few hundred, but they will know the ropes and save you a whole load of legwork too. They may even be able to smooth over the "irregularities" in your previous application, or tell you how to explain it.

We have a lot of Indian citizens among our membership; very many of them have applied for pasports, a few may have had problems or had unusual situations to deal with but --- nobody here is a professional.

Get away from the internet on this one, and go find yourself a professional!

thanx Nick-H, i went to an agent today, he was completely aware with the situation. He suggested me to close the file in bhopal with an application, and re apply in raipur passport office, he is doing the whole thing. I just hope this time it works.

Amol, the fact that you verbally mentioned to the cops in Bilaspur? that you study in Nagpur, is not a reason for disqualification and is certainly not provision of false information. Those cops made a mistake, in fact they shud be fired, becos any idiot knows (or shud know, specially a cop doing verifications) that for a STUDENT a college address is not a regular address, i.e., the student is not legally considered a resident of the place where his/her college is, but legally continues to be a resident where his/her family home/address is.
You cud take this issue up with the RPO Bhopal, if it in any way negatively influences your case, specially with a new PP.
Then again if things work out fine in Raipur, well and good.

Just because it is not your legal residential address does not mean that you can omit it from your passport application. The application asks for all places where you stayed in for the past two year.
In fact, many of my college mates obtained passports while still in college using the college hostel address.
