Passport for new born baby

Hi,

My wife delivered a baby recently in India. Currently i am in UK and wants to apply passport for the baby in India.

It seems we need to get a no objection letter from indian consulate in Uk. I have no idea what is this and the procedure to apply for the same.

Please if any one already applied for no objection letter for passport purposes.. please let me know the procedure..

Thanks in advance

Congratulations!

I can't help with your query, but while you're online you might want to add some info about yours and your wife's nationality and whether you are trying to get an Indian or British passport for the baby.

Question Help needed on Baby' s passport

Hi

This is a good thread, I got some info on the Baby's passport issue.

I wish to apply for the Passport for my baby:
1. Me, My wife and Baby live in Thane City - Maharashtra - India.
2. We Parents have Passports issued in Delhi and Marriage is registered in Delhi.
3. Baby is born in Thane - Maharashtra.
4. Baby has Birth Certificate issued from Thane Municipality.

Questions:
1. Can we apply for the passport from Delhi? Will there be any objection as baby has Birth Certificate from Thane-municipality.

2. Applying for PP in Thane, We do not have domicile certificate for Thane location, Will this hamper the chance of PP issuance for baby?

3. What is my best bet (apply for PP at Delhi or Thane) to get the PP in shortest time?

Please help me with info and process steps.

Regards

- arunstar.

Smile Babys Passport

I am not pretty sure but i think if your baby is born in Thane and you were resident of thane, you need to get domicile certificate from tehshildar office and then apply for passport at Thane Office Only.
