Papers for Residence Permit Address Change
Papers for Residence Permit Address Change
Good evening all,
I am hoing that I don't re-post a question previously answered here but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
So, I have a valid residence permit and have so far been living in apartments for which I had a court stamped rent agreement thus easy papers for the residence permit. Now I moved in with my Indian husband and his parents. Which papers would I need for the FRRO to change my residence permit address?
I am assuming I would need the letter from my company (I am on employment visa) stating my address as per their records. Then an electricity bill on my father-in-law's name, a paper showing they own the apartment and a letter stating father's name etc and that I live there along with a copy of my father-in-law's ID...am I missing anything else?
Not sure if it's relevant but I don't have a PIO yet (due to the long process of registering our marriage and subsequently changing my last name after marriage at my own embassy) so the FRRO wouldn't be aware I got married. I hope that won't create any issues when stating that I live with my legal husband now.
Looking forward to your advice respectively sign-off
Thanks!

Hi there,
To answer my own question
:
It was fairly easy as I shifted within Delhi. I submitted a letter from my company confirming they are aware of my current, new address, along with a letter from my husband who owns the house stating that he is the owner and that I live there and my details like passport number, visa, etc.. And last but not least a copy of the last paid property tax. Address changes don't require the online application at the FRRO and a utility bill was not needed as none were in my name as I told them...so we were done in five minutes.
Hope this helps anyone else with the same query.

I don't think I've needed to take a marriage certificate to the FRRO since getting the PIO card, and, before that, since originally registering (when I had to do other stuff, too, like having a document where my wife takes responsibility for not allowing me to post stuff on India Mike. Whoops!
)
) I didn't need the marriage certificate as my husband turned out to be the owner of the residence (I thought it was my father-in-law). And they didn't inquire about how much rent I pay or what the relation is. Also, I am here on employment visa so the address change is a minor change to the residence permit.
