PAN CARD application from the UK
PAN CARD application from the UK
Hi
I am moving to India in mid December 2012 and I am about to apply for my business visa and my PAN CARD.
Share your experiences applying for PAN CARD from UK, please.
. Did you use a company to send the documents and application for you? Which one?
. There is so much mixed information out there about which documents we need to apply for PAN CARD. Its confusing... Did you need to send a copy of your passport + a copy of bank statement with just the bank's signature or did you get an notary public then and Apostille?
. It could cost loads and loads to get it all done...
. PAN CARD is very much needed now in India, right?! If going on business visa with intentions to set something up out there?
. Could you apply for one once in India? Is it more difficult? Cheaper? Easier?
Much appreciate your comments.
Thank you.

I applied for my PAN card through this site from Germany in 2010 and the card was sent to me here by post. I had to get a photocopy of my passport attested by a Notary public. That was my "proof of identity". I also have a PIO card with my local address in Germany. As this is a Government of India document I had to get the copy attested by an Indian Consular officer. This was then my "proof of address". If you have a bank-statement or utility bill stating your name and address, I suppose you will have to get a copy notarized. Once you get to the PIN fill in 999999.
I applied from USA through www.NriInvestIndia.com. They say it takes only 15 days but mine took almost two moinths.
Cost me about fifty seven dollars, excluding cost of shipping. The documents that I had to submit were passport copy, copy of my OCI book ( not applicable in your case), one photo and the application form. I did not have to go to the Indian consulate for any attestation. They did that in India.
This was way back in November 2011. In my opinion it is cheaper and faster to apply locally in India. Hope this helps.

Why have pan card in India?
Hi there
I have been looking into applying for a pan card form UK and plus an business visa. The costs are quite high all together and I am not sure if we need it...
Anyone give me some clarity please? Much appreciate it.
If my partner are going to India to check out the culture, make contacts, get some work if we can, work there, possibly, in my case open a business with a friend out there... Should I get a business visa and PAN CARD and go to India kind of prepared??? or should I check things out there first?
Could I apply for PAN CARD from India?
Anyone experiencing this????
Thanks so much.
