Pakistani Origin: Visa finally issued nearly 12 months later

Interesting. When/how did they tell you who your visa officer is? Upon request? Yeah here the receptionist can give you the status on her computer, at which time the visa officer's name shows up too, you can ask if they have even received the file from travisa as a reason for pulling up the information.
Visa Granted
Hi
I am a British citizen of Pakitsani origin..
I applied for a Business Visa and got a call today from the High Commission India asking me to send my passport as they will issue me with a visa.
its been almost 5 months of waiting..
since my travel plans need to be revised.. I am thinking of waiting a couple of weeks before I send my passport as I dont want my Visa to expire before I travel..
Was told my Visa will start from date of issue, which is when they receive my passport..
I will probably be sending it end of next week or week after..
finally some good news..
good luck to those that are waiting..

I applied for 1 year multiple entry but instead they offered me a 3 month single entry.
I dont think they offer 1 year multiple entry visas to those travelling first time.. Maybe if you travelled on a regular basis on business

Apologies for my late posting but I do not know if you guys have read about severe weather in UK which resulted in my baby and myself coming down with a cold. I have some good and bad news. I am hoping notgoing can advise. After getting down to the Birmingham consulate where our passports are I found that my daughter of 22 months can have her visa but I have to await clearance from Delhi. This inturn did not make any sense as she can not travel on her own and I am her mother who is British indian with indian parents so what is the reasoning behind this. I am going back on Monday to try and speak to a Mr Sharma as today I waited and was then thrown out by the security guard who was abusive and aggressive for no reason. So not sure how the outcome is going to be but will keep trying. I have filed a complaint against the security guard with the police so if he tries it again on Monday I will call them to the consulate. Will keep you posted
For those of you that got word that your visas are ready to be issued...did you just get a telephone call from the consulate?
I'm wondering if it's even worth my time stopping by the Travisa office to ask if there's anything I can do.

JasminRana, I don't have a similar situation like you in since my wife was born in India. I guess even wives of Pakistan origin husbands are falling into the same category as the husband (requiring Delhi clearance).
It appears from other posts however that people are eventually getting the visa, so you should be hopeful. Aside from sending someone to the ministry in Delhi to speed things up, I don't think there is much you can do. Just be careful not to get on someone's bad list at the consulate, that will only slow things down more.

Speaking of Delhi clearance before visa can be issued, I have a slightly related question. Pakistan obviously raises the red flags, whether born there or married to a Pakistani national.
But how far would this red flag approach to a Pakistan connection possibly go?
I've planned to travel to India in December this year, but am also planning a trip to Pakistan (as entry point to the stans) for September-October. I would apply for the India visa in Sydney upon my return from Pakistan.
Am I likely to upset visa officials and languish while my documents head to Delhi?? I just wonder about this because I've had 6 tourist visas for India in the past 3-4 years.
I'd apply for the Indian visa beforehand, in early September. EXCEPT, there's this latest 3 month (not 6 month) visa trend and that would finish off the plan of going to India.
Any helpful advice would be most welcome.
