OCI vs. PIO

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could briefly tell me the benefits of both (or which one is better) and which one that I might be eligible for - I am Indian - parents immigrated and are now Canadian citizens - I was born in Canada.

Also would my spouse who is NOT Indian also be eligible for the PIO card.

Many Thanks.

Your spouse is only eligible for PIO status. You would be eligible for OCI and PIO. OCI is overall better.

You will find all the OCI details, inclusing comparison with PIO on the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs Site OCI pages here
