Non UK residents applying for a Visa in the UK

I have just printed out and looked at the additional form to be filled in by Sri Lankan nationals/ applicants not resident in the UK applying for a visa in the UK.
Am I missing something? It seems this form is just for Sri Lankan nationals….most of the questions are for Sri Lankans, even the heading on the top of the form.
I don’t want to get to the front of the line only to be told I have the wrong form. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct form? Has anyone had the same experience? Or maybe I am over looking things in my panic to get everything done before I leave! Either way your help is MUCH appreciated ! Thanks !

You don't say what nationality you are.

There different rules for nationals of different countries.

hi John thanks for replying but maybe I didnt explain correctly -the form asks for a Sri Lankan passport number, and address in Sri Lanka. I looks to me like this form is only for Sri Lankan nationals...and i guess my worry is i some how i have the wrong form...
I got it from the web site so i should be ok..right ?!?!?!?!?

As far as I know you use the standard form:

http://www.hcilondon.net/services/vi...d/VisaForm.PDF

or

http://www.hcilondon.net/services/vi...d/VisaForm.DOC

There is a question about your nationality on this form.

If you are Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Bangladeshi you need a different form.

Why don't you contact the HCI London and ask them which application form you need?

Pix, please tell us: Are you (or were you ever, it matters) Sri Lankan?

If not, what nationality are you?

Hi Pix!

If you are Australian you can download and complete this form:

http://www.hcilondon.net/services/vi...d/VisaForm.PDF

or

http://www.hcilondon.net/services/vi...d/VisaForm.DOC

The other forms are for other nationalities.

I didn't know if you were Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Bangladeshi or from the Planet Zob!

All the best,

John.

You're an Australian?

Are Australians allowed to post here?

Sri Lankans get all sorts of hassle and are often only given 3-month visas: a friend of mine coming next week who was born in Sri Lanka, moved to Africa as a baby and has been a British Citizen for more than twenty years has had this problem and had to reorganise her trip.

I suggest you don't leave it to the last minute: unless you are squeezing the max number of days in India out of your 6-month visa go a couple of weeks before you depart, just in case.

And keep dancing

Hi dessy. If you have been living in the UK for less than 12 months, or if you are a tourist and are applying for an Indian visa in the UK you need to fill in an additional application form. I couldnt find it on the HC website, although the website makes reference to it (?!?!)
If you have residency in the UK, have been living there for more than 12 months and can prove it ( with bank statements, bills and so on) you dont have to fill in the form....or paid the additional £10
I dont know what your situation is, but i guess the bottom line is don't worry, its seems the people at the HC are used to people turning up with the wrong form or without a form. It really wasn't a biggie that i had the wrong form the lady didnt make me go to the back of the line or anything....good luck and oh get there early I was so glad i did !
