New Visa / Sri Lanka or Nepal or Dubai?
Hello,
iam living now in Southindia. In the next weeks i have to renew my Visa. Whats the best way at the moment, to get a fast visa with the lowest costs? Train / Fly Nepal? Fly Dubai? Fly Srilanka? In so different forum are written, that in Sri Lanka only a 3 month visa's gave to the people, but from the south its the fastest way. Train Nepal is very long, Fly a little bit expensive. My country of origin is Germany. thx for your help and input. regards Tom |

Not sure what would work out cheapest really aside from overland to Nepal. Even getting to Kathmandu from the boarder can be a exercise in patience and strength of mind. I suppose it depends on flights.
Bangkok is another option, Air India Express do reasonable flights (around 5,000INR) from Kolkata. For the best information on flights, check out www.ixigo.com Personally I would go to Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur, since I've heard a few stories about the embassies in Nepal and SL being a bit fussy. Kolkata is also a good access point, since it is very well connected to the Indian transport system (and a fascinating place to visit). |

You have to look at the TCV (Total Cost of Visarun) Airline ticket+Living Expenses while in the City/Country of VisaRun.

The nearest international airport is Trivandrum.
Its important for me to get minimum a 6 month visa (i heart, that sri lanka often gave only 3 months). Kolkata is a little bit to far from here. |

I cannot predict whether or not you'll get a visa of 6 months or more. |

You shouldn't count on getting a new tourist visa in any destination though. You well may; you may not.
Oh, and then I see only now, Well, you certainly can't count on that, either. Sorry, but them's the breaks. No matter where you go for it.

Germany gives indians ..... 10 days, 15 days..... 31 days...... maximum 3 months for tourism ? And that too after a aggressive personal interview. Consider your self lucky. You can try BKK and hangout in the 'gluch' which they process your visa. |

Yes; strangely, nations' immigration schemes haven't been devised to accommodate just you.

Try your home country for a 1 year. Although it will cost more, it would save you additional visa runs say, after 3 months.

? Poster mentions their home country as being Germany.
I'm not aware India gives one-year tourist visas to Germans (they do to very few anyway, save for the fabled US 10-year visa, and then whatever some UK citizens may be eligible for.) |

Dont go to Dubai. I stayed there for 4 years, and I frankly hate it. Nepal is the place. My choice out of your list. First, its a great time of the year to visit Nepal, secondly, the casino scene is pretty rocking in Nepal these days. Also, you'll come across lots of hippies.
