New Visa Office in Beijing
In a few days I'll be going to get my Indian visa in Beijing, and I just found that starting tomorrow, January 8th, the embassy will no longer be accepting most visa applications.
Instead everyone must go to an outsourced visa office near the Dongzhimen subway station. Here's the website: http://www.vfs-india.com.cn/index.aspx Of course this means that there will be an extra 165RMB tacked on. I'll go drop off my application in a few days, and I'll report how it goes.

Just a word of warning about the Beijing visa office. I dropped off my application on January 10th, and have yet to get it back. Both their website and the person who accepted my application said it should take about 5 working days. It's currently been 8 working days, and no one can tell me when it will be finished.
My flight leaves in a few days, and if they don't get it back in time I will not be particularly happy. Do they actually want people to visit India? |
