Rahil, she needs to apply for an x visa. There are lots of threads about it here. Just search under "applying for an x visa". Now is the time to do it, don't wait till December!! If you have been married for one year, she can apply for a PIO card, which will entitle her to stay in India for 15 years.

Why do you need an agent?

Get it sorted now, and it will be far far easier. If her tourist visa expires she will not be allowed to leave India for any reason until she has got a new entry visa or PIO certificate.

Hello people,

I have one question:-

My wife has 6 months tourist visa and I think in order to get X visa might take long time. Will it be possible I take her to Bangladesh or Nepal to get another Tourist visa for 6 month so I will have enough time to get X visa .

Please advice me as what I need to do ?

Thanks

It would be be helpful to know the nationality of your wife and how long you've been married, as this could have an effect on her visa options.

This thread lays out the X visa process about as well as one could ask for...

OK, so applying for a PIO card is out for another six months. If you review the link on my earlier post (and there are many other threads about this) the thing to do is either

1) visit the FHA and start the X visa process NOW, understanding that she'll probably have to leave the country as you suggest, and that back-to-back tourist visas are not always for six months -- some are shorter, especially if she's done the 'visa run' renewals before (see the many threads about tourist visas). As you'll note from the threads, the time to do the X visa processing varies widely. You have an advantage in that you can go to the MHA directly, and not through some regional FRO outpost.

2) decide that getting the X visa would be easier in her home country, and apply there. I believe that most threads conclude that this is a simpler process.

As for using agents, it's your call, but it looks like doing the process locally isn't difficult or complex, it's just time-consuming, and an agent is just going to (personal opinion) take your money and provide little value.

Good luck, and do post the results of whatever process you choose.
