Question My Passport is less than 6 months/Visa Impossible?? Please help me.

I just applied for a passport. I'm going to India for a week the end of April or early May to act in a film.

The producers are handling my visa but they haven't asked me about my passport. It will definitely be less than the 6 month requirement I keep reading about.

Will they be able to get me the required visa? Please help me. I am a rookie.

Not sure that I understand the problem, your passport has to be valid for at least 6 months after your intended departure from India. If you have applied for a new passport, that should not be a problem.

Does it ? I went to get a visa for a relative, the passport was going to expire in 4 months. They asked me to get a letter stating he would accept a 4 month visa. I took this when I went to collect the passport and the visa was valid for 4 months.

That is a very common requirement for visas. This is what the ministry of foreign affairs(India) says:
"Passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of intended departure from India should accompany visa applications."

Smile Thanks!

Now I know where my confusion is. My travel book states, "you'll need a passport valid for at least six months..." I interpreted that to mean the passport had to at least be 6 months current.

Thank you all for clearing this up.
