my new passport have stamp that my old passport was detained

i had my old passport it was damaged my sun rip one of the page and i reply a new passport in embassy in the application i put damage passport sooo when i got my new passport on the back have a red stam sayin the old passport was detained and they miss spell my first name on my new passport soo i went back got my name fixed but they didnt give me a new passport they write my name with pen on the next page and stamp and singof the officer i m going to india

but i have all the document with my correct name

What country does the passport belong to? You say your country is USA but you sound Indian and don't mention a visa so I think you could be Indian. If the Indian embassy gave you the passport, it should work for going home to India. Returning to US could be a different issue.
