Multiple Entry Visa

I'd like to apply for an Indian multiple entry visa. But at present in China, only business visa has the type. Is there any other ways? Can I apply for the visa in the third country? Thanks

Yes you can apply for an Indian visa in a third country, but the application will take far longer to process, and there is no guarantee that you would get a multiple entry visa, I know for certain that people of Pakistani origins for instance are only given three month single entry.

The following quotes contain information given by a member who works in this field, to people applying for an Indian visa in the UK.

Quote:
You fall into one of the 5 'referral' categories, namely Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
You do have to provide a lot more documentation than other passport holders, and I would suggest the following
- 3 months bank statements
- letter from employer
- invitation letter from someone in India
- any previous expired passports you still hold
Quote:
For non-UK passports, people with Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Afghan or Chinese family connections or passports, note that the processing time is a minumum of 7 - 10 days, and has been known to be as much as 20 working days.
Quote:
I guess what I am saying here is be very careful of making arrangements to travel to other places once you have submitted your passport - because it's not an easy process trying to get it back.

And it goes without saying that this gets even worse if you fall into one of the 'referral' categories such as Paskistani, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan or China, or have a non UK passport and have lived here less than a year. In those cases, though they are supposed to average a turnround time of 10 - 20 working days, they can take longer
