mistake on my visa

Hello there!
I applied for a 1 year employment visa at the Consulate in Toronto.
When I picked it up I notice they had only given me 6 months, when I pointed this out to the lady at the desk she said "No problem." and sent it back. It came back out 30 minutes later with the dates scratched out and the new date written above it with a signature to endorse the change. Yikes!!

Has this happened to you? Did you have any problems when you left the country?

Had something similar happen to me twice. Once on Indian visa they spelt my name wrong on the printed visa sticker. When I pointed this out they changed it by hand using a pen. No one at IGIA airport was too concerned.

Another time the passport number on a visa was wrong. Again corrected by hand and no problem.

Its a common practice in India to make correction by hand and then authorising it with a signature and normall a stamp.

My marriage certificate even has a place to enter "no. of corns"!

I have an entirely hand-written visa on my passport (not for India).

So what's your concern?

At least with Canada's immigration front line, when an immigration officer gets a visa client, they have a full summary of the client, how much money they make, how much money is in their bank account, what they're here for, where they are staying, who they know, etc. I'm quite sure India has the same thing (hence the Visa Number)

Few week ago I made India visa in embassy in Warsaw. When I get passport I found two mistakes - wrong written my surname and wrong written my passport number.
I sent passport back to embassy, but when I get passpot back I found that only one mistake (wrong written my surname) is corrected.
There is no time to send passport back to Warsaw(Polen) for other misstake correction (I live in Vilnius, Lithuania), because I depart to India very soon.
I travel to Ladakh, and I know that there are several passport check point on the road Manali - Leh. Also I'm worried about - will let me go to India, if found this misstake on airport in Delhi.
Maybe someone had similar case? What shold I do, if I have problems related with this misstake in my visa?
I very worried about this issue.
