Lost Passport

I am an F1 student. I lost my passport recently. I dont have state id. I booked tickets for a trip to buffalo, ny. Is there anyway to travel without the passport. Or should i wait for three months to get my new passport?

Driver's license. You can check out the requirements for travel by looking up your airline website on google.com..

you shouldnt be travelling anywhere if you dont have any photo ID with you. be it a drivers license, passport or any other forms of these like State Ids.

its not clear where you are and where you want to go?..are you travelling instate within NY?...are you catching a plane?. greyhound?

..either ways its better to have some photo id to prevent problems for unforseen events...

You should report the loss of your passport to your consulate (they may also require you to inform the police) ASAP. If you leave it they may be more interested in why you left it, rather than replacing your passport.

...Probably you did all this already.

As GC says, it is not clear where you are flying from. If you are flying to USA from India or other foreign country that could well be a big problem.

thanks... I am travelling from Raleigh, NC to Buffalo, NY by air. I reported the loss to consulate and also to the police. But i dont have any other form of id. The state (NC) refused to issue an id without a passport. So i am in a cross about the id requirements.

if you are a student, the airlines will accept a valid student id with a photograph from your university.

better sort out the passport issues with the consulate asap, anyway
