hello,i have a question about getting visa for india, thru Kathmandu.am in india thru student organisation aiesec, came to company in hyderabad for one year, but after 1st month quit, coz of bad conditions there. My visa type is XV and i have there name of student organisation but also name of company I already left. now i have new company, but have to exchange visa.the shortest way is, I think, leave country, exchange visa and come back. back to czech republic is too costly,so decided for nepal. Here my Question is comming: is it possible to get in Nepal other then tourist visa, for example entry visa?Does anybody of you have xp with this. Will be very greatful for any info, since I have to begin asap. thank you

You wont be able to get an entry visa to India based on the criteria you hav mentioned.I dont knw wht an xv visa is(is it some volunteering visa?),but based on wht i knw you cant work here on any visa other than Employment visa.
I am not sure if the same criteria applies for Volunteer visa, Best of luck in this matter, |

xv type means entry visa, these type of visa u get if u dont fit to any other type and u want to stay longer than 6months. my purpose was internship, so im working legally on xv visa, u can also work on employment visa as u mentioned and also on business visa. but many ppl r working here on tourist visa, since also many NGO's r suggesting this option, coz its the easiest one(illegal one). but my issue is now solved. as my new company insisted on changing my visa,i had suddenly only one option, go to delhi, MHA and ask them to send a "memo" to commisioner off. to hyderabad to change my visa, which means nothing more then add to my res.perm. one sentence that me Yakub is allowed to change company and stamp.actually now im waiting how will they decide in Delhi, coz i've asked them if it is possible to solve it without going to Delhi.the proceedure i know from my friend, who underwent whole procedure month ago.

Entry Visa
Hi,
i have read on several EU websites of Indian embassies that only people of Indian origin can get these entry visas. Are you of Indian origin? Hannah |

People of Indian origin plus a few other categories that they do not have specific visa types to cover, but will grant long-term visas to. These includes spouses of people with employment visas, and also spouses of resident Indian citizens.

volunteering?
thanks for the quick answer.
Is it sensible to simply try to apply for a 5 year visa saying that I want to do charity work (with an invitation letter of the NGO for one year?). Or can I simply apply for a 5 year tourist visa saying that I love India? My intention is to be in India with my good Indian friends, to help the needy, to learn Hindi, and simply to live. Thanks! Sorry to have to put it like this, but one reason that will never get you a visa (other than tourist) for India, or any other country in the world, is simply wanting to be there. Love is not enough. India has 1.6 billion people and it doesn't need any more.
Even foreign people with a major stake in an NGO have visa problems to remain here long term. I've mentioned in reply to your other post some ways that it might be possible, eg being a student. |
