Indian visa on RTW trip
Indian visa on RTW trip
My daughter (UK citizen) is off on a round the world trip in October and will be away for six and a half months.
The last destination before coming home is India where she will spend a couple of weeks. Immediately prior to that she'll be in Singapore and Thailand for several weeks and before that Australia and New Zealand.
Here's the rub - a six-month tourist visa applied for in the UK before departure will obviously have expired, being valid from date-of-issue. Will she have to apply for a visa while she's travelling?
What's the best way to manage this please?

I visited India from Thailand when I was travelling and I got a visa while in Bangkok. Most travel agents will handle this for you although they will charge. I understand that they outsource most visa applications, meaning it can take a few days to get. I left my passport with a good travel agent in Bangkok did some sightseeing and went and collected a few days later. No problems. Just make sure she chooses a good travel agent. Make sure she has a few photocopies of her passport if she leaves her passport with an agent.
