Exclamation Indian visa from Nepal

There are tons of threads like this one but you'll agree that things change constantly on this scenario so my simple question is: has anybody got recently a six months indian visa from Kathmandu?

I know it changes from country to country. I will be traveling with an italian passport but my question is not directed to italians only, more in general to Schengen citizens and particularly to mediterranean and portuguese chaps.

So far, I never had any problem by getting six months visas but from the bombing at Mahim Metro Station (2006) on things have become increasingly difficult as we all know.

The last two times I've been to India I had my visas from Bangkok, now: I live in Italy and flying till Thailand only to get a visa is tiring and uselessly expensive BUT... if it has to be done...

For any information you maybe able to share: thank you, thank you, thank you...

It appears a lot of people are getting 6 months tourist visas in KTM. Incidentally, Italians are off the manure list of the Indian bureaucrats so you should be able to get one too. Let us know.
Cheers..

Thanks for replying. It is always a risk but I think I'll try. On monday I should be putting my butt on a plane. I'll let you know.
PS I'm curious to know which countries are on that list.

So, for an American applying out of country ... would Kathmandu or Bangkok be a better bet for a 6 month tourist visa?

Am visiting "home" (California) but realizing that as I haven't been living here I have no address proof so will have to jump through lots of hoops to get a visa for my upcoming trip to India. Seems like I will have to apply somewhere near the border.... any advice on the best country?

I feel like us Americans are on that bureaucrat list of distrust ...

Apply online, then take the application and physically submit it in SFO.

Well, not quite an option at this moment. They require a proof of address in the US which I do not have as I don't officially live here at this time.

Again just wondering of any recent experiences getting a visa from Bangkok or Nepal?

It seems, or rather, the meta message here is, that you do not for reasons other than proof of address, wish to apply for a 10-year visa in SFO.

In know of two people (not SFO, but NYC) who just walked up early morning at E53rd in NY, no proof was asked. They got their visas next day.

This has a better chance of success than facebook stock climbing back to IPO level

Since I failed to buy in the IPO rush (my shona baba tipped me off to what his superiors said about it) I should note that both BK & KTM are in the hot spot for getting 6 month visas just now. Take a supporting, if fictional, itineray for your proposed 6 months in India. Don't mention the cheap charras..
