Indian Passport Renewal by Tatkal.

My present passport is due for renewal , which isissued in Kolkata, and I want to done it quickly ,Now please suggests whether should I opt for Tatkalor Normal Route.Present passport is still valid , issued 9.5 years back,issued in Kolkata, during last 9.5 years addressed changedonce in same city .Please adsvise the formalities concerned Tatkal Renewal.Any suggestions will be appreciated.Cheers

I would say do for tatkal. The only trouble is the certificate by a high government official vouching for you.

Go for tatkal. The documents required are not at all difficult if you have adequate address proof(voter ID card with proper address, electric bill in your name etc).

You also need a verification letter(annexure F)from an IAS/IPS officer or a PSU GM or a defence officer above a certain rank.

If you have all the documents, then the process is not complicated at all.

As per the passport rules for Tatkal says, Either Annexure F ; or 3 recognised proof of residency listed in the Anenxure . Isnt'It ?

I don't think there is anyway to get Tatkal passport without Annexure F.

It is possible, and is called scheme B, which involves providing 3 documents from a list of 14.More here: http://passport.gov.in/cpv/TatkalScheme.htm
