| Indian nationals need to marry in UK Hi, I am a Indian national going to UK on work permit for an year or so. Owing to the nature of work its quite difficult for me to return to India till the completion of assignment. Due to some personal unavoidable reasons i want to marry my girl friend who also is an Indian national. Since both of us are Indian nationals, If she comes to UK on a tourist visa is it possible for us to get married in UK and would such marriage be recognized in India as we will move back to India once the assignment is over. Thanks in advance for the help. |

| When I last looked (and it is a few years ago)... There is no visa for UK actually called a "tourist" visa. They have settlement or non-settlement visas. The latter, obviously, cover tourists. There are major restrictions on a visitor to UK marrying in the country if they are on a non-settlement visa. They should state when applying for the visa that they intend ot marry.
