My wife has registered at FRRO in Pune. When she leaves India in Feb 2008, does she require a Income Tax Clearnce Letter. She is a housewife and gave birth to a baby boy in Pune. She has no income in India and I send her money to India for her day to day expenses.
Thank you. Raj Patel |

The usual disclaimer: We are not professionals, just people giving answers from our opinions and experience. If in doubt, you should consult an auditor...
It is my understanding that income tax clearance is something that hasn't been asked for for some time. She should take her resident's permit to the airport. If she is planning to return to India she should keep it, if not, she should surrender it.
