This is true, that question is not asked on the application form. With that in mind, perhaps I would after all not mention my previous overstay.

What I would suggest is applying in good time, in case any of this causes a delay.

Thank you all!

This has definitely put my mind at ease. I probably won't mention anything in that case and hope for the very best. Not travelling for another few months but always good to do a bit of research and get some advice

Sorry to bring this up again.

I received another email from the Embassy saying that I should send both of my passports along with my visa application to them and they will look into it. So, basically, if I don't attach the passport with the overstay stamp they won't really notice it, will they?

You have only mentioned two passports, right?
  • The old one with the overstay stamp.
  • The new one.
Clearly, they are expecting to receive TWO passports from you.

What part of "send both" didn't you understand?
