I am a BRITISH citizen on a 6month TOURIST VISA - CAN I APPLY FOR A PIO IN DELHI?
Hello, Can I apply for a PIO card in Delhi, my father and grandfather are both residents of India with Indian passports.
I am currently on a 6month tourist visa can I apply?
Or can I apply for any other kind of visa whilst in Delhi i.e. 5year entry so that I can leave India and come back within a short term i.e. 2weeks
To defeat the 2month tourist gap rule?
Regards,
Lio.

No. You can only apply for a PIO card in India if you are here on a long-term visa.
My interpretation is that the facility to apply for PIO here is limited to people who are living, who are resident, here. That r rules out any sort of tourist-visa visitor.
If you go back to London with clear documentation of your qualification for a PIO card, it might not take as much as two months to get (I don't know current timings) --- and then you can come back as soon as you get it.

If you ever held an Indian passport, you might have to use that to apply for a OCI, which is more appropriate

You can only convert a T-Visa to an X-visa under special circumstances. Please google/search those conditions

Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.
