How to Transfer longterm business visa to new passport ??

How to Transfer longterm business visa to new passport ??

I have a 5 yr business visa for India issued in Nepal, valid until 2014.
My passport (UK) will expire in October 2012.
So visa should be transferred to new passport.
I am a director of an Indian company, and I am resident in India.

I Have been checking various UK and Indian embassy and visa websites all day and also visited FRO in Goa where I live, and have my business,

and its very unclear to me whether its best to

A) apply for new passport in UK (one day service ?...... I will be there for 2 weeks only in august, and only 4 days in London), and then go to Indian Embassy and hopefully get them to transfer the business visa .... one day service???? ( which they had not originally issued… it was issued in Nepal) from my old passport to my new one,., all this in 2 weeks, and then re-enter India with new passport and old visa…

OR
B) go to Uk and come back to India in august. Then apply for new passport in India ( procedure is via Delhi then by courier to Hong Kong, apparantly) , hoping they will understand my instructions to send back my old passport with the new one, and that the visa must remain intact as it is still valid 2 more years.
Then find the correct office (FRO??? Home office???.. any other suggestions???) to transfer my visa from old to new passport…..

OR
C)
Is it possible to just keep the old passport with old visa and staple the 2 passports ( old and new) together and just travel with 2 pasports until visa is expired in 2104?

Any recent experience or input very much appreciated.
thanks

Definitely C.

Surprised you got a 5 year business visa in Nepal, and pretty sure this would not be possible now?
Out of curiosity, did you just turn up at the Indian High Commission (with all the paperwork of course) and ask for one?

The "word" on here for some time has been that these visas must be applied for in your home country and are generally given for 1 - 2 years.
