how to change tourist visa into work visa

hi, i am a mauritian citizen. i want to come to bangalore to work. There are currently no companies which are performing online interviews for the time being, so i cannot apply for a job and get a work permit to come to india. is it possible that i come on a tourist visa and search for a job over there.
After that, can my visit visa be converted into working visa??

The short answer is "No".

Are you of Indian descent? Then you may apply for a PIO. But otherwise, visas can not be converted from tourist to "working".

... So to add, the normal requirement would be to if you should find work, you need to go back to your country of residence to apply for the employment visa there.

It's probably unwise to go around in India shouting from the rooftops that you're looking for work on a tourist visa; but a bit of informal enquiring should be very much doable you'd think.

Keep in mind whatever job you're looking for it must be reasonably arguable that the position can't be filled by a resident, or you won't be eligible for it.

As noted, it gets asked about and discussed all the time on this site, so do search around for it. Also, most any thread will feature a listing of "similar threads" at bottom of page, just like this one does, just scroll down for it; this can be a handy way to quickly search on on a given theme. Opening those, they'll feature such a listing at bottom again, etc.

Latest I heard (here, so a search might reveal the post) is that one has to apply for an emplyment visa in one's country of citizenship, not residence.

kaamran (welcome to the site): tourist visas have never been convertible for employment, and the current climate is one of considerable tightening up.
