HELP - need an invitation letter

Hello,

I am a brit getting a visa for India in South Africa. Proving to be tricky. They need serious proof of accommodation for at least half the rip...i mean who can give them that? or an invitation from an indian or temp resident for the whole time. i think the latter's going to be easier than faking the former. Anyone know a way around this...i don't know anyone living in india at all!!

Are you applying for a tourist visa? Would not a sample trip plan with confirmed flight tickets back to home country help?

Expecting help from one stranger to another is highly unlikely / risky.

Yes, I know...The consul in RSA is very particular and expects you to know where you will be staying and have it booked. I don't know a single living soul in Inida...blast (A billion people and i don't know 1!!!) . It wodul be enough in the UK i think, but here is difficult.
