Getting Visa

Ive always got my visa via the embassy in london. Have now got the offer of a trip out there in next week or 2, and noted from here and the embassy site that applications are now outsourced. What i cant seem to find out is, when we go to london with the application, will we come away with the visa there and then, or will we have to return on another day to collect it???

Is it quicker to do it by post??

Presuming that you live in the London area you can go to Victoria or Goswell Road. If you fill the application online you can get an appointment time. Take your form, fees etc to Vfs. They will process in 3 working days, so you'll have to go to pick it up as well. You can also apply by post but this will take longer. Check out the posts on Visas.

thanks for yr reply.
I dont live that near to london, so thats a pain having to go twice, but dont want to risk them getting held up by posting so suppose i will have to do two trips.

You shouldn't get your visas held up in the post if you use SDE's which guarantee delivery by 1:00pm next day when posted.

Turn around time is normally about 10 days but recently it seems to be quicker, read posts here...
